IronBrick Commemorates the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service by Giving Back to Fairfax County

IronBrick honors Dr. King's legacy by performing community service supporting Fairfax County Public Schools.

McLean, VA, January 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- On January 18th, the IronBrick executive team and staff commemorated the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service by supporting Greater DC Cares education efforts at the T.C. Williams High School. As one of Northern Virginia’s leading technology firms, IronBrick has demonstrated a deep commitment to corporate social responsibility, and in particular, to developing strong ties with the local community where the company is headquartered.

The IronBrick team joined over 3,000 volunteers who gathered around the Greater Washington, D.C. area to honor the legacy of the late Dr. King through community service. At the T.C. Williams’ High School Minnie Howard Campus, the team participated in a project designed to lower drop-out rates, get students more engaged in their education, and reinforce their interest in pursuing higher education.

As the IronBrick team painted college logos in classrooms frequented by high school freshmen, Kevin Murphy, CEO of IronBrick, stated as he worked, “we are thrilled to be a part of this project, and we hope that our work will serve as a daily reminder to students in this campus that continuing education is important and a goal that should be ever-present in their daily endeavors.”

Murphy added, “Greater DC Cares does some outstanding work across the region and we are thankful to be working with them. I am particularly pleased that we were able to help students in Fairfax County. Our business is based in Fairfax County, and many of us grew up here. This event was a great opportunity to give back to the community that has provided so much for us.”
