113 Year Old Institution Upgrades Its Services with the Latest in Visual Aid Technology

Jim Vlock donates the latest version of video magnification (CCTV) to the James Blackstone Memorial Library in Branford, CT with the help of Vision Dynamics of Cheshire, CT.

New Haven, CT, January 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Jim Vlock, using the services of Vision Dynamics, LLC of Cheshire, CT, has made arrangements to donate the newest model of Optolec Clearview 22” video magnifier to the Blackstone Library in Branford, CT. This library enjoys a long history of service to their patrons and friends in Branford.

The James Blackstone Memorial Library was given to Branford by Timothy Beach Blackstone in memory of his father, who was born in Branford in 1793. Timothy Blackstone, born in Branford in 1829, devoted a lifelong career to railroad service in Chicago.

Mr. Vlock will be formally presenting the reader to Kathy Rieger, Director of the library, on February 4, 2010 in the auditorium of the library at 2:00pm. “Our staff is delighted to have this new technology available for the public. There are many who will now be able to come to our library to read their favorite books, periodicals or personal letters and other correspondence. It will be a nice addition to the library to have this technology for our patrons to enable them to do the things they love.” said Kathy. “Providing this latest technology continues our efforts in complying with our mission statement in providing resources and programs for the community.”

Charlie Collins, founder and owner of Vision Dynamics in Cheshire, CT, will set up and demonstrate the reader for this presentation. Charlie has been visually impaired since his teenage years. He understands the problems visually impaired people experience. He relates to everyone in his explanation of the reader and will show the ease of use that surprises many. “It is important for everyone to realize the full benefits available with this technology. I am sure it will inspire and empower someone to get back their feeling of independence.” said Charlie. “No matter what your vision problem is this reader will help you.” Charlie and some of his staff will be available to answer all questions.
