Chix In Business, Inc. Contributing to Haiti Emergency Relief
Chix in Business, Inc a non-profit organization of women business owners, has responded to the devastating crisis in Haiti stemming from the 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010.

Chix in Business, Inc a non-profit organization of women business owners, has responded to the devastating crisis in Haiti stemming from the 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010.
Local business owner and Chix member Sara Davis Dail of Beleza…A Fair Trade Boutique in Cameron Village is receiving donations from Chix members and customers to send to Haiti through NC MERCI, sponsored by the Horn United Methodist Church. MERCI is receiving emergency supplies, blankets, sheets, food, tarps, and health kits.
Sara comments, “Donations from the local community have been overwhelming. A woman who delivered a bag of items said, ‘Thanks for making it easy for us to help.’ That says is all.”
Beleza supports international fair trade, with jewelry and accessories supporting developing countries all over the world, including Haiti. Sara’s husband, Phillip traveled to Haiti in early August. While we was there, he worked with an orphanage and became involved with a local pastor who helped to build clinics, schools, community centers and churches in the poorest areas of Haiti. He has seen the images on the news, and it’s heartbreaking because he remembers being there last summer. To be able to support relief efforts is important to both of them.
Based in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, Chix in Business, Inc is a non-profit, dues-based grassroots organization of women business owners, providing member support and education through relationship building, resource sharing, discussions and presentations, mentoring and Community Outreach.
Chix in Business is comprised of independent women business owners, agents and individuals who proudly endorse the buy local concept, and support and educate one another through idea sharing, networking, seminars, mentoring, volunteer work and philanthropic activities.
