New Customizable Secondary Splice Box and Above-Grade Pedestal from Highline Products Delivers Options: Cost-Effective and Durable HDPE Design is Interchangeable

Lexington, MA, January 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Highline Products (www.highlineproducts.com), a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical distribution products, has introduced a new 1220 series multi-purpose high-density polyethylene (HDPE) secondary splice box and above-grade pedestal. The 1220 series is available in a number of customizable configurations for resilient electrical installations. Lightweight, durable, and easy-to-handle, the reinforced plastic box features superior side-wall and top-loading strength at a lower cost than fiberglass.

“The new 1220 series secondary splice box and above grade pedestal is interchangeable with other manufacturer’s underground electrical utility enclosures,” said John Sullivan, Highline Products’ VP of Sales & Marketing. “Our goal is to give customers more choices to meet a variety of electrical installation needs.”

Resilient Splicing Features

The new secondary splice box and above-grade pedestal is made of a custom-blended HDPE using a low pressure, structural foam injection-molded process, with reinforced walls. The box is UV-stabilized to provide for long life and outstanding weather-ability.

“Highline Products put several years of engineering, tooling, and design effort into the 1220 series to make it durable, cost-effective, and configurable,” added Sullivan.

The 1220 series secondary splice box and pedestal is available in several configurations, including a dome and flat cover option, as well as a variety of tamper-proof latch and bolt options, and all stainless steel or brass hardware. The latch options include a single bolt cover, two-bolt cover, single bolt with secondary crimp lock or brass lock (available on the dome lid only), and either Hex or Penta bolts. The box is 14 5/8" x 22 5/8" x 16" high with a 12" x 20" opening. Several logo configurations are available.

“The dome lid and latch options double the number of the applications for the box, and allow installations that safely bring cables up out of high moisture areas,” added Sullivan.
