Baby Basics of Collier County Honored by Kelly Capolino with Diamond Volunteer Award

The 100% volunteer organization that distributes diapers to needy infants had their chance to sparkle at the Diamond Volunteer Award reception on January 14.

Naples, FL, January 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Baby Basics of Collier County, a volunteer run organization that provides and distributes free diapers to children from low income working families, had the opportunity to honor 25 of their most dedicated volunteers on January 14 at a private cocktail reception given in their name.

As one of the three winning non-profit groups for 2010, Baby Basics was awarded the Diamond Volunteer Award by Kelly E. Capolino, local real estate professional and presenter of the 2010 program. The award honors and recognizes well deserving volunteers in our community.

The reception was held in a Mediterra model home provided by Nelson Bordeaux of Bordeaux Homes. Nelson and Sandy Bordeau are philanthropists who like to donate their time and resources to charitable organizations.

“The importance of projects like the Diamond Volunteer Program encourages the positive impact we all have when we "give back" to our community. We salute the efforts of the volunteers in our area; and recognize them as leaders that make a positive impact on the lives of others. We are very excited to have been part of the program honoring Baby Basics."

Baby Basics gives out diapers, a costly but basic necessity, to over 230 at-risk infants in the Collier County and Bonita Springs area. Beyond these hygienic essentials, volunteers provide a supportive atmosphere of kindness and caring that gives struggling hard working families with a feeling of hope, a sense of belonging and a support network for the opportunity to succeed.

“I was really impressed with the care and attention that these volunteers have in creating a nurturing and loving environment,” said Kelly Capolino. “It was an honor for me to be able to present these truly dedicated and deserving volunteers with this award. Talking with this group gave me chills… they give so much to help families in need, I applaud them and it was such an honor to meet them and speak with each volunteer who attended the award reception.”

Jean Ann Lynch, President of Baby Basics accepted the award which read: “Through their efforts and dedication, hundreds of babies are given comfort. Through their efforts, diapers and kindness are provided to low income working families. Through their efforts, families find true compassion.”

“I was so pleased to have our volunteers recognized with this special award. They are the heart and soul of the organization and they are making a difference in the lives of so many babies in our community,” said Lynch.
