Two Stiles Buildings Receive EPA's National ENERGY STAR Rating

SunTrust International Center and 800 Brickell Reflect Stiles’ “Green” Commitment.

Miami, FL, January 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two office buildings leased and managed by Stiles in downtown Miami have received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® rating -- the national mark of excellence in energy performance. BothSunTrust International Center, located at 1 S.E. 3rd Avenue in the heart of Downtown Miami, and 800 Brickell, at Brickell Avenue and Southeast 8th Street, achieved ENERGY STAR rating by meeting stringent EPA guidelines.

ENERGY STAR was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. To qualify for ENERGY STAR rating, an office building must score in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide, based on EPA's National Energy Performance Rating System.

SunTrust International Center -- Owned by STIC Partners, a Stiles partnership, the 418,916-square-foot office tower is a seven-time Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Building of the Year winner, and has received an additional award from the BOMA Miami-Dade Chapter for “Best Parking Garage in Miami." SunTrust International Center offers panoramic views of Biscayne Bay and the City of Miami, and is within walking distance of the Metromover and Metrorail, Miami Dade County and Federal Courthouses, as well as Bayside Marketplace and American Airlines Arena.

In addition to SunTrust Bank, the building’s tenant mix of corporate, financial and professional firms includes Akerman Senterfitt, Bank of America, N.A; Miami Daily Business Review, State Farm Insurance and Miami Dade County’s audit department.

800 Brickell -- With a high-profile location in the Brickell business district, the 208,325-square-foot tower is owned by GRE 800 Brickell, LP of Fort Lauderdale, a Stiles partnership. Among tenants at the 15-story building are StateTrust Group, Consulate of Chile, Bank Leumi, TotalBank, Conill, American Land and Frank Crystal.

Achieving Energy Star rating for the two Miami office buildings is the latest step in Stiles’ companywide commitment to investing, building and managing “green.” The company’s headquarters building in Downtown Fort Lauderdale – 300 Las Olas Place -- was Florida’s first existing multi-tenant office building to receive Gold-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) certification. In addition, Stiles developed, leases and manages Lake Shore Plaza II, Broward’s first multi-tenant office building to be Silver LEED certified by U.S. Green Building Council.

Stiles has regional offices in Miami, Tampa, Ft. Myers and Orlando, Fla. and is currently responsible for the leasing and management of 6.2 million square feet of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use residential projects throughout the southeastern United States.
