Junior League of Bronxville Dances to Disco

Bronxville, NY, February 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Junior League of Bronxville (JLB) is proud to announce details for its annual fundraising gala, The Disco Ball. This year’s event will be held at the Bronxville Field Club, Saturday, March 6, 2010, which will be transformed into a dance club and where guests can get their groove on to the swinging sounds of the 70s and 80s disco decades.

The Disco Ball, which is open to the public, promises to be one of the most exciting charitable events to be held in the Bronxville/Lower Westchester area this year. Guests will enjoy a light show and dance the night away courtesy of tunes provided by Jimmy Dees Music. Proceeds from unique silent and Chinese auction items will go toward funding the various outreach projects of the Junior League of Bronxville.

“We are really excited about this year’s Disco Ball,” stated Raquelle Frenchman, President of the JLB. “Every dollar raised will be invested back into the community to combat hunger, support literacy, and build better programs in our service area in Lower Westchester.”

The Junior League of Bronxville’s annual gala has been a vital part of fundraising in the Bronxville Community for the past 60 years. JLB members donate over 30,000 hours of community service annually and work with hosts of community programs and agencies, such as working with students to promote pre-school literacy at Head Start and stuffing backpacks with donated groceries for the weekend to feed food-insecure Yonkers grade school students. Through their charitable works, JLB members donate over $600,000 worth of volunteer salaries.

Tickets for The Disco Ball are $100 a person, or $150 a ticket for the benefactor level. As availability is limited to the first 220 people, guests are encouraged to buy their tickets online at the JLB website at www.jlbronxville.org. The JLB welcomes individual and corporate sponsors for The Disco Ball, as well as donations for its silent and Chinese auctions. Please contact Beth Miller at 914-356-3060 or Bethmiller1231@yahoo.com to donate an auction item or to learn more about how you can support the event.

The Junior League of Bronxville is a non-profit organization of women committed to voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Members primarily live in its service areas of Bronxville, Eastchester, Mount Vernon, Tuckahoe and Yonkers.
