Non for Profit Organization Project M.A.T.E, INC Striving to Empower Minority Teens Through Education of Entrepreneurship

Nashville, TN, February 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Non for profit organization Project M.A.T.E, INC, has been established to educate minority teens of the importance of striving for educational excellence and also having an entrepreneurial mindset. The "M.A.T.E" is an acronym meaning Minority.Advancement.Through.Entrepreneurship. The organization is not only giving advice and encouragement to minority teens, but they are providing them with the resources to educate themselves about receiving a proper education and starting lasting businesses.

Project MATE, INC understands that a majority of minority teens have not an inkling of what entrepreneurship is or the impact it has on the world. The reason for minority teens not knowing of this issue is not because it is something they do not care about, but because it is something they do not know about.

Project MATE, INC has developed a website which contains various resources for visitors to learn of entrepreneurship and how to establish and maintain businesses. Some of the resources include; “how to guides”, “letters of wisdom” (from established business professionals), “recommended books”, “interactive videos” and etc.

Also, several programs have been established that will help promote and advance their mission. The organization will provide speakers that will be available to speak to middle and high school students about the importance of a good education and having an entrepreneurial mindset. The following is a brief description of the Project MATE’s services.

“Jumpstart Workshops”

The workshop will be an intensive seven day program meant to give teens a “hands on” approach to business start up. The workshops will focus on business plan writing, marketing, and resource planning. The workshops will be held in a boardroom setting. All participants will be required to organize in a group and create a business that will be pitched on the last day of the workshop. These workshops will be held throughout the nation.

“Teenpreneur Conference”

The conference will be a four day event that will focus on the education of business startup, life planning, college planning, and business management. The event will give participants the ability to network with peers and business owners. The conference will be held once a year in Atlanta, GA.

“Text-A-Mentor”

This program will equip minority entrepreneurs with cellular phones that have text capabilities. Teens will have access to the text number and can talk with the entrepreneurs via text, asking them business questions and etc.
