Rapid Growth Expected in Greater Valley Area in 2010

More than a dozen active projects in east Alabama and west Georgia, comprising three counties and four cities, are evidence of the regional and growing impact of Greater Valley Group, LLC.

West Point, GA, February 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- More than a dozen active projects in two states, three counties and four cities are evidence of the regional and growing impact of Greater Valley Group, LLC. Breathing new life into the established textile communities of east Alabama and west Georgia, the new Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) production plant brought jobs and opportunity to the area. Greater Valley Group is committed to making the communities surrounding the state-of-the-
art facility a “first-choice” option for new workers, families, retirees, military personnel, college students, executives and professionals.

The Greater Valley Group recently began an ambitious residential, retail and commercial building campaign to improve the area and provide housing and attractive lifestyle amenities for locals and newcomers.

“The arrival of Kia and the automotive suppliers was definitely a catalyst for our investment and building,” said Walter Shealy, President and CEO of Greater Valley Group. “The new employment opportunities combined with the ideal location and natural recreational amenities make this area incredibly attractive. West Point Lake is right here. Easy access to the interstate is right here. Good jobs are here -- and not just the Kia jobs. We’re providing a lot of jobs, too. This area enjoys moderate southern winters, and doesn’t suffer from the hurricanes that plague Florida and the Gulf Coast. We want these communities to enjoy a new century of security and affluence where generations will grow up with fond memories of their home,” Shealy concluded.

GVG is currently building single-family homes at a variety of price points. Their experienced team has designed and built a master-planned community with prices starting in the low $200’s and a golf-course community with prices starting in the mid $300’s.

Quail Run, the master-planned community, blends modern amenities and historic design. Family-friendly floor plans with large, inviting and comfortable porches enjoy a view of the park and ball fields. Side-walks on both sides of the street encourage outdoor activities and connecting with neighbors.

The community plan includes a pool, resort-style pavilion and tennis courts, as well as access to a fishing pond, an equestrian center and a nearby hunting preserve. The tennis courts, pool and pavilion will open Memorial Day, 2010.

Riverside Estates is a new 18-hole golf-course community with large wooded lots providing scenic views and privacy with the conveniences and amenities of a full-service country club within walking distance of virtually every lot. Golf-carts are a popular way to commute to dinner at the club-house or to play tennis. The Riverside complex will soon be home to The Overlook at Riverside, a 75-unit condominium complex where every elite unit will feature a spectacular view of the golf course. Those who seek low-maintenance living will find The Overlook an attractive alternative.

Two new apartment communities were completed and opened in the summer of 2008, providing convenient and beautifully appointed residential options within seven miles of KMMG A third apartment community adjacent to the new buildings received extensive renovations, bringing the available apartment total to over 900 professionally managed units.

GVG continued their aggressive capital investment plan by completing and opening an award-winning Hampton Inn & Suites hotel in April 2009 and by purchasing and renovating an existing Holiday Inn Express. Both properties provide outstanding accommodations for business and recreational travelers, and both are convenient to KMMG and the growing network of automotive suppliers in the region.

By the end of 2010, KMMG is expected to employ almost 3,000 team members working two full shifts with the target goal of producing 300,000 vehicles per year. The automotive suppliers, both on the KMMG campus and in the surrounding counties of both Alabama and Georgia, will conservatively generate an additional 5,000 jobs.

Greater Valley Group has equally ambitious goals: build beautiful neighborhoods with desirable amenities and prepare the communities and counties surrounding KMMG to be attractive alternatives for permanent relocation. KMMG will be in West Point for many decades, and GVG’s communities are built for generations.
