Fishers, IN, November 02, 2006 --(PR.com
)-- Pharmacists have an appreciation month. Nurses, other healthcare professionals, and managers also have times of the year commemorating service to their patients, employers, and employees. However, the role of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) has not been widely known, nor commemorated.
In honor of the thousands of MSLs employed by pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and managed care companies, Pharm, LLC has declared the first ever and annual MSL Appreciation Day to be held on the first Friday of November. The first MSL Appreciation Day will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006.
“The Medical Science Liaison is a well-established role within the industry since the late 1960s for scientists, yet not well known by the population at large,” as stated by Dr. Erin Albert, founder of MSL Appreciation Day and president of Pharm, LLC, a pharmaceutical consulting firm. “Medical Science Liaisons are not only critical to the dissemination of medical and clinical information, but are key shepards in advancement of the science behind new therapies and novel uses for existing compounds. We thought it was time to recognize the hard work and dedication MSLs put forth on a daily basis to advance medicine in order to improve lives of patients.”
