Caring for Our Community

Light Of The Lamb presents Project Care and Share of Ramona

Ramona, CA, February 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A “true Ramonan” (out county Californian in county San Diegan Ramonan) Mark Baker and his wife Chris Baker assisted many during the 2007 fires doing everything from guarding evacuated houses, rescuing horses, feeding the National Guard and Fire Department to using his business Baker’s Ramona Auto Diversities to repair emergency vehicles. “That’s when God put on my heart the idea for the project. I was one of the few that stayed and everyone else that stayed needed help.”

Baker is trying to get everyone to help. “We want to initiate a spirit of renaissance in our town, we want to create change to help people” and so far they’ve succeeded in bringing on change. Besides the meal every Friday, Light Of The Lamb also distributes fresh produce, bread and some dairy products from 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Leftover produce goes to a local composter for use in an upcoming project -a community garden next year.

“You don’t have to be of a particular faith to come. We are relentless in helping those in need”. As well as helping the needy, Baker’s Ramona Auto Diversities is helping Ramona motorists by lowering their shop labor rate from $70. Per hour to their 1995 rate of $50. Per hour. “Times are tough and people still have to get their cars fixed. I’m not out to gouge anybody, I just want to help”.

If anyone else is interested in helping donations of cooking supplies and appliances, utensils, paper plates, pots and pans, trash bags are some of the items needed. Also, a licensed volunteer driver is needed a few hours per week for food distribution.
