New York, NY, February 23, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- Even in the darkest of times, with wars raging and economies collapsing, people still dream. But sadly, twinkles of imagination lose their glow because of a lack of support.
Well, no more wishing on a star — with RocketHub (www.rockethub.com) the future has just gotten a lot brighter. This website provides people with the tools necessary to ignite their creative projects and helps make their dreams soar.
Employing the concept of “crowdfunding” — grassroots fundraising that harnesses the financial power of a crowd — RocketHub encourages its users (the site calls them “Creatives”) to use their social-network connections (called “Fuelers”) through sites such as Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and others to publicize projects; YouTube and Vimeo to demonstrate enthusiasm; and PayPal to process all financial transactions.
RocketHub’s premise is that most “Creatives” don’t know people able to contribute large sums of money to fund their projects. But they do have a huge network of connections able to contribute small amounts, $10, $50 or $100, toward the same project. In other words, “Creatives” likely already have the financial backing they need available to them, once they know how to leverage it.
That’s where RocketHub comes in: by corralling the power of the crowd, the website provides its users with the infrastructure, credibility and community necessary to launch their projects. Through its easy-to-use launch platform “Creatives” are able to draw on the financial power of their existing networks, turning family, friends and fans into “Fuelers.” Those same tools will also help expand a “Creative’s” network through their “Fuelers’” connections and the greater RocketHub community.
RocketHub removes a “Creative’s” dependence on standard producers by establishing a new creative economy that allows him or her to interact directly with “Fuelers,” and “Fuelers” to have a direct impact on the final product. Co-creator Jed Cohen says, “As a former actor and singer, I know how difficult it is for ‘Creatives’ to hold on to their dreams, and stay inspired and focused while waiting for their ‘big breaks.’ With RocketHub they no longer have to wait — now every ‘Creative’ can shoot for the moon.”
RocketHub’s mission is to liberate creativity through grassroots crowdfunding. RocketHub provides the credibility and infrastructure necessary to successfully leverage the financial power of participants’ personal and far-reaching communities to launch creative projects and worthwhile endeavors.
