Mindgrub Participates in Seminar Focusing on Social/Digital Media and Online Networking

Baltimore, MD, February 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Held at DLA Piper in Baltimore on January 22nd 2010, the Greater Baltimore Tech Council (GBTC) hosted a seminar focusing on Social/Digital media and online networking. The name of the event was, Digital Media in Action: Engaging, Implementing & Creating Tangible Outcomes.

This seminar focused on how to solve these problems by explaining how organizations utilize social networking to drive revenue, create brand recognition, improve customer service, and ultimately attract customers. Although every business may know about social networking sites, many of them don’t know how to effectively use the sites or measure the tangible outcomes from such activities. More importantly, these companies are not able to quantify how they are gaining new customers and driving their company forward.

Todd Marks and Vince Buscemi attended this conference to discuss Mindgrub’s new social media marketing campaign for the Voice of America. Voice of America is an international multimedia broadcasting service funded by the US government, which Mindgrub is now working with. Todd and Vince discussed the potential benefits involved in the creating of shareable widgets that can be virally shared on Facebook and other social networking sites. In addition, they discussed how to determine the ROI that can be expected from social activities. A banking and technology executive, Kevin P. Lynch, had been in attendance for Todd and Vince’s session of the seminar and took away valuable information for his own company. “What I really liked, and want to explore in 2010, is the use of widgets to engage our customers. We are rolling out a new PFM application this year and a widget that could logically make a connection with the new service could be a good fit. We'll have to look into it.” Mindgrub is currently targeting China for this project and are researching the environment of this country’s most popular social networking sites.

The Greater Baltimore Tech Council (GBTC) is devoted to one goal: building and growing the Greater Baltimore Region’s Business & Technology community. Throughout this seminar Mindgrub was able to identify the importance of utilizing widgets through social networking sites.
