Caregivers Return from Respite Cruise in the Caribbean

A group of rested, happy, caregivers have returned from 5 fun filled days on a Caregiver Caribbean Cruise.

Miami, FL, March 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Full time caregiving is an exhausting job, but a group of members from thealzheimerspouse.com, joined Patrick Toal from caregivercruises.com, for respite, shopping, eating, swimming with the dolphins, sightseeing, caregiving seminars, and support groups, on the Celebrity Century cruise ship from February 15-20th. They left from Miami, Florida, and toured Key West and Grand Cayman.

Joan Gershman, founder of thealzheimerspouse.com, the #1 site (in Google Search Engine) on the Internet for support and information for spouses of Alzheimer/Dementia patients, and Patrick Toal, geriatric social worker, and owner of Open Seas Travel Company, joined forces to shine some sun and bring rest and enjoyment to overworked caregivers.

Those caregivers who were not able to actually take the cruise, did so “virtually” with the clever aid of pictures, creative outfits, and willing cruisers who posed with the “virtual” cruisers. Thealzheimerspouse.com is a full service website for Alzheimer spouses, filled with resources, information, support, message boards, and blogs written by Joan, as she struggles to cope with her husband’s Alzheimer’s Disease.

The idea for a respite cruise for caregivers was conceived by Patrick Toal of Open Seas Travel. It is his goal to put joy into the lives of harried caregivers.
