OurTown.com Re-Design Under Way

OurTown.com and its national network of hyper-local news sites has announced a complete redesign and relaunch scheduled for May, 2010. This relaunch will help to build the brand and will ease the work of the Local Editors facilitating the expansion of the OurTown network.

Cincinnati, OH, February 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- OurTown.com, the nationwide network of hyper-local news sites, has announced plans for the re-design and re-launch of all of its affiliate sites. OurTown offers sites for every community in the U.S. Currently several hundred Local Editors across the country are operating their own OurTown.com sites featuring news and information about their communities.

“Our redesign will make our community sites more uniform, helping to build our brand. They will also be much more user-friendly and will incorporate features such as upgraded classifieds, expanded photo galleries, easier content submission, social media integration, a nationwide ad network and other enhancements,” said Chris Burnett, OurTown marketing director. “This will make it easier for the Local Editors who run the town sites to update their sites more easily with breaking news and information” added Burnett..

OurTown.com has contracted with Minimaal, a London, England, graphic design firm, to update and upgrade the look and feel of the website. "The idea is to have a fresh and clean website with a Web 2.0 look and feel -- where people can find information quickly and appreciate the easy navigation throughout, said Andres Buzzio, President of Minimaal."

The launch of the new design is planned for May, 2010. During this redesign process, Local Editor license fees are suspended, Editors who sign up during the redesign period will receive a free one year OurTown site license. After the May launch, these License Fees will be $500-$3,000 annually, depending on the territory covered.
