)-- The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina (HR Mission Bay) has recently appointed Gilbert Santana as the new director of food and beverage. Santana will oversee all facets of the food and beverage division including Red Marlin restaurant, SWIM poolside bar and lounge, in-room dining, banquets and catering services for the 430-room waterfront property on Mission Bay.
“Gilbert has many years of both international and domestic hospitality experience,” said Mohsen Khaleghi, general manager at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina. “His excellent managerial skills, creativity and ability to motivate will be a wonderful asset to our staff and guests.”
With more than 18 years experience in hospitality, Santana most recently served as the director of food and beverage at the Hyatt Regency Long Island, N.Y. Previously, he was the assistant food and beverage director at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, Fla., where he managed three restaurants, room service, two pool-side bars, banquets and catering at the 445-room resort with 21,000 square feet of meeting space.
Santana’s resume also includes positions at the El Conquistador Resort, Hyatt Regency Cerromar and Hyatt Dorado Beach, all located in Puerto Rico.
