You Can Donate through ZipGive to Chile Earthquake Relief by Texting “CHILE” to 45678

Canadians can once again use text messaging on their cellphones to donate money to relief efforts for Chile.

Toronto, Canada, March 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A similar fundraising program for Haiti enabled by ZipGive, a Canadian authorized Application Service Provider by the Mobile Giving Foundation, helped its clients raise over $370,000 by mobile phone donations for relief efforts. Canadian networks Bell, Rogers Wireless, TELUS and Virgin Mobile have again agreed to waive text-messaging fees for the donation, as they did for Haiti donations. One hundred per cent of customers’ donations will go directly to the relief organization’s efforts to help the victims of the Chilean earthquake.

“At a time of crisis, we spring into action. By acting urgently, we are helping those who need help most,” said Andrew D’Amico, Fundraising Account Manager for ZipGive. “Mobile giving is the easiest and the fastest way possible to make a difference.”

By texting the keyword “CHILE” to the designated shortcode “45678”, a donation of $5 can be made to UNICEF. After texting to the shortcode, reply with “YES” to confirm the donation. The donation is added to the cell user’s bill and receipts are available from the Mobile Giving Foundation at http://www.mobilegiving.ca
