Machu Picchu Still a World Wonder as Seen in Unique Designer Necklaces

Despite the recent flood, Machu Picchu retains its majestic beauty through the trendy collection of Peruvian-style designer necklaces and accessories that form part of ZeMis’ Wonders of the World Series of hip but opulent neckpieces and fashion accessories. The Incas-inspired necklaces and bracelets are handmade from assorted wood and glass beads.

New York, NY, March 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Machu Picchu, the famous fabled ‘Lost City’ made popular by Hiram Bingham, brought inspiration to ZeMis’ Spring-Summer 2010 Peruvian collection of wooden necklaces and bracelets. In line with the South American theme, ZeMis is also offering rustic designed bags, Andean music, Incan tribal tunes and home décor.

ZeMis specializes in immaculate neckpieces made from natural components, semi-precious stones, luxurious and hand woven exotic fabrics and glass beads, all artfully interlaced by skilled artisans. Lindy Castillo, ZeMis’ designer and founder explains, “Although Machu Picchu is not an ancient wonder, it is nonetheless awesome and worthy of worldwide recognition.” Castillo further adds, “The mysterious story behind and mythical nature of Machu Picchu inspired us to collaborate with experienced wood crafters and design artists who stay close to the rustic life and produced a wonderful collection of fun neckpieces that evoke bucolic elegance. We are inspired by the mortar free structures and stone masonry skills of the Incans.”

For its Spring/Summer collection, ZeMis worked around the theme of ‘Wonders of the World’. ZeMis came up with its own 7 Wonders list to draw inspiration from for its fabulous Spring collection of neckpieces. A preview of the Spring/Summer 2010 line may be viewed at http://www.zemis.com/content/Spring_Summer_2010_Collection.htm.

Through this Wonders of the World Series, ZeMis hopes to attract attention and glorify these marvelous sites so people around the world will continue to visit them, appreciate their awesome grandeur and make an effort to protect and preserve these one-of-a-kind manmade wonders. Lindy Castillo remarks, “With the recent mudslides in Machu Picchu brought about by the heavy rains, we are reminded to throw respect back to nature and make conscious effort to manage tourism to these famous sites to avoid environmental degradation surrounding it.”
