Re:locate Magazine - Entry Deadline for HR Categories of Relocation Awards Extended

Kent, United Kingdom, March 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The deadline for HR professionals to enter the Best Relocation Strategy/Policy and Inspirational HR Team of the Year categories of the Re:locate Awards 2009/10, which honour companies and individuals involved in relocation, has been extended to Friday 26 March.

Started in 2007 by Re:locate, the UK's leading magazine for HR professionals and relocation specialists, and now an established highlight of the relocation calendar, the awards honour global mobility and international assignment management professionals, who form a small, but vital, part of the HR profession. Previous winners have included Ernst & Young, Jones Lang LaSalle, NATS, GlaxoSmithKline and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Entering is, in itself, a very worthwhile experience. Fiona Murchie, Re:locate's managing editor, says, "By taking the time to focus on, and evaluate, aspects of your work, you'll engage and motivate your team and gain insights that can give your organisation the edge in these increasingly competitive times. If you win, not only will your personal profile and the morale of your team be raised, but you'll also be helping your company to recruit and retain top talent, and to drive up standards."

Jane Mabbitt, a member of the Ernst & Young team named Inspirational HR Team of the Year at the Re:locate Awards 2008/9, bears this out, saying that the award has helped promote their Global Exchange Program and further strengthen leadership buy in, a key issue in her organisation. "At Ernst & Young, teaming, integrity, and leadership excellence are not just things we talk about, but part of everything we do. That's why we were so keen to participate in the Re:locate Awards, and so delighted to win."

To encourage even more great companies and individuals to enter this year's awards, Re:locate has teamed up with Judith Leary-Joyce, author of Inspirational Manager and Becoming an Employer of Choice and managing director of Great Companies Consulting, to offer an added incentive to enter and a special prize. The winner's of this year's Inspirational HR Team of the Year award will enjoy a day's consultancy with Judith, during which they'll work with her to develop their team and business skills and promote the culture of success within their company, to the benefit of themselves and their employer.

Says Fiona Murchie, "With training and development budgets under pressure, this fantastic prize, worth several thousand pounds, will give the winners, and their organisation, a real boost. We're particularly keen to encourage not-for-proflt organisations to enter, as they have so much to offer and are often the ones who find the most creative solutions to supporting their people while staying within tight budgets."

Explaining the decision to extend this year's deadline for the HR categories, Fiona Murchie says, "The beginning of the year is a particularly busy time for many companies. It was that, combined with the complex sign-off system for entries in larger organisations, which made us decide to extend the deadline for HR people. We'd hate them to miss this opportunity to share their achievements with other professionals across the relocation spectrum."

Every organisation that enters the awards will receive a free copy of Judith Leary-Joyce's new book, The Psychology of Success, which reveals how to harness talent to gain serial success.
