Waltham, MA, March 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Medical Development Group (MDG) announced its April 21, 2010 networking event entitled “The Power of Trade Secrets: When Not to Patent Your Invention.”

Though patents are the strongest form of intellectual property, 90% of technology is protected by confidentiality agreements and trade secrets. At the April 21st event you’ll learn what to do when patents are not available for your invention, or simply are not the smartest way to protect your asset (and why).

Their speaker for the evening is Dr. Stanley F. Chalvire, a Registered Patent Attorney with Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton, PC. Stan specializes in patent prosecution, licensing of intellectual property and related counseling. He focuses his practice on counseling clients in developing and implementing strategies to protect their intellectual property, particularly in the areas relating to small molecule chemistry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Stan has experience in pharmaceutical formulations and drug delivery technologies, genomics, proteins, drug screening and identification, small molecule pharmaceuticals and related methods of treatment.
