And, it is the support and encouragement by the owners and residents, as well as the Police officials, which made this possible” he said.

After the President’s address, Mrs. Pramila Raman, Vice President of Jyotsna Colony, welcomed Mr. S. Thennarasu, Inspector of Police, with a bouquet. Mr. Thennarasu then addressed the gathering. His speech was full of praise for the Jyotsna Colony for taking action in line with the discussions. He further stressed that whatever advice is given by the Police is in the interest of the safety of the lives and property of the residents, narrating a recent incident of theft of gold in Velachery.

It was followed by Mr. Thennarasu formally cutting the ribbon to release the barricade for use, in the presence of Mr. Balasundaram, Mr. P. Ramamoorthi, Secretary, and other residents. Mr. R. Anantharamakrishnan, a Committee Member, drove in the first car, crossing the barricade, after the barricade was commissioned. Sweets and soft drinks were then served to the residents.
