Still Motion Media and MobiStories Win Gold Medal from Mom’s Choice Awards

MobiStories, digital books and ebooks for kids entered three books as a representative sample of their library collection and won the first place award for “Best in Family Friendly Products.”

Doylestown, PA, March 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Still Motion Media, creator and producer of MobiStories, digital books for kids was honored today with a gold medal for best multimedia experiences in the children’s picture books ages 0-9 category. With this award, MobiStories is now considered “Best in Family-Friendly Products.”

The Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA) is an awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products and services. MobiStories, narrated children’s picture books with music and sound effects, was invented for times when Mom or Dad cannot read a story to a child such as when driving, in a grocery store or at a sibling’s soccer game.

Parents, educators, librarians and retailers rely on MCA evaluations when selecting quality materials for children and families. The Mom’s Choice Awards® seal helps families and educators navigate the vast array of products and services and make informed decisions.

“We are thrilled and humbled with the gold medal classification,” commented Bob Budlow, President of Still Motion Media. “Considering the qualifications of the judges, this gives us further resolve that our interactive ebooks for the iPhone and computer are right on target for families with children ages two through eight.”

The esteemed panel of MCA judges includes education, media and other experts as well as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, authors, scientists and others. A sampling of the MCA panel members includes: Dr. Twila C. Liggett, ten-time Emmy-winner, professor and founder of PBS’s Reading Rainbow; Julie Aigner-Clark, Creator of Baby Einstein and The Safe Side Project; Jodee Blanco, New York Times best-selling author, Priscilla Dunstan, creator of the Dunstan Baby Language; Patricia Rossi, host of NBC’s Manners Minute; Dr. Letitia S. Wright, D.C., host of the Wright Place™ TV Show; and Catherine Witcher, M.Ed., special needs expert and founder of Precision Education, Inc.

MCA judges are bound by a strict code of ethics which ensures expert and objective analysis free from any manufacturer association. The evaluation process uses a propriety methodology in which entries are scored on a number of elements including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.

To be considered for this award, Still Motion Media submitted the following books as examples of MobiStories: Ella Elephant, a story about a Jazz-Playing elephant with various animals playing jazz music throughout the story; Do You Know the Way to Find an A, an alphabet picture book narrated using humorous voices, and The Magic Rocket, a fanciful story about a boy who uses a magic rocket to rescue his dog that was taken away in a flying saucer.

These entries were matched to judges in the MCA database. Judges performed a thorough analysis and submitted a detailed assessment. Results were compiled and submitted to the MCA Executive Committee for final approval. The end result was a list of the best in family-friendly media, products and services that parents and educators can feel confident in using.
