Visiting Physicians Association® Adds Lisa Benton, M.D., M.P.H., to Office in Columbus, Ohio

Benton hired as the newest physician in VPA office that covers covers the Columbus metro area and surrounding suburbs, including Franklin, Delaware, Morrow, Union, Madison, Ross, Pickaway, Fairfield, Licking, Richland, Crawford and Knox Counties.

Columbus, OH, March 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Visiting Physicians Association® (VPA®, www.visitingphysicians.com) announced the addition of Lisa Benton, M.D., M.P.H. to its practice at 355 E. Campus View Blvd., Suite 180 in Columbus, Ohio.

Benton holds medical licenses in Ohio, New Jersey and California and has experience in emergency medicine, general internal medicine and occupational medicine. Although she performed a general surgery residency and fellowships in plastic surgery and breast oncology, she has been primarily practicing in general practice medicine. Additionally, she holds certifications in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma life support.

Outside the hospital, Benton is a frequent presenter on the lecture circuit. In 2009, she spoke to the National Medical Association on “Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to Determine Access to Digital Mammography (DM) Devices.” Benton also has had several articles published during her career. Last year, she wrote an article entitled, “Reducing Cervical Cancer Disparities in African Americans” in the Southern Medical Journal.

Benton earned her Master’s of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and medical doctorate from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University.
