Washington, DC, March 21, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- GoldenNetworking.com's Banking Leaders Forum 2010, “Discerning the New Industry Landscape (If Possible)”, March 25th, with Keynote Speaker Honorable Eugene A. Ludwig, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Promontory Financial Group, LLC, and former U.S. Comptroller of the Currency, will provide the most up-to-date overview of the new regulatory and economic landscape for the financial services industry. A topic of importance that will be central to the debate is Senator Christopher Dodd's recent proposal for financial reform unveiled on Monday in Washington DC, with some provisions attracting significant attention from congressmen from both aisles.
Reports The Wall Street Journal, "The debate over revamping rules for financial companies has largely focused on sweeping issues such as the Federal Reserve's oversight role. But in the bill launched this week by Senate Democrats, a little-noticed provision designed to give shareholders more clout is emerging as a stumbling block. Several Republican senators have expressed concern about the relatively arcane issue, known as 'proxy access,' which would give investors more say in how corporate directors are elected. It isn't clear how big an obstacle the opposition might be, but it is shaping up as a sticking point as Democrats seek Republican votes."
