Stuttgart, Germany, March 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- edelight has a new face.

Social shopping Germany: edelight gains the foothold.

The German shopping platform edelight can now exhibit its third profitable year and has decided to indulge in the second relaunch since its formation. The blue has stepped aside for a more reduced colour scheme and the homepage displays more user generated content than before. Peter Ambrozy said that the main changes are within the structure: blogs, products and community are growing into an interactive shopping world.

"The new face is a vital change, but not our last" said Peter Ambrozy. Having learned from previous relaunches, the page will be changed step by step. "To date, we have up to two million users per month on our page," remarked Ambrozy, "therefore we want to avoid confusing everyone with a complete relaunch."

The header had been changed in November. Changes on the sub pages and individual categories are also in the works. A lot of work behind the scenes, but it pays off. July 2009 edelight entered its third year of business; the first two have been profitable throughout.

In questions of design, the team and Peter Ambrozy gathered intensive feedback from users and the target group. With the help of eye-tracking analysis and focus groups, the desires and search-behaviour of users was evaluated. Surveys within the community decided upon the new colouring scheme and the content of the homepage.

"It was no simple task to display all our aspects without cluttering the homepage," said Ambrozy. Nearly 400.000 product recommendations from over 8.400 international shops have been amassed on edelight by the users since the launch of November 2006. Thus edelight can boast of having a larger variety than any other German social shopping platform. Added to that, there are a range of community features like surveys or gift finders, and also 35 blogs written by edelight users.

The edelight team is convinced that the outcome has brought them closer to being a shopping destination. Further changes will follow within the next few months. Step by step the core and individual features shall undergo a relaunch. "New filters and functions; like our visual search visualdelight, will also be witnessed on edelight." So far; due to the huge demand by other platforms like t-online.de and elle.de, there had been no time for this change.
