Long Island Women’s Agenda (LIWA) to Present “Work-Life Balance: The Next Generation”

Plainview, NY, March 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A panel of women — representing several generations — will examine the past, present and future state of work-life balance at a conference hosted by the Work & Family Committee of Long Island Women’s Agenda (LIWA). It will take place on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 6 P.M. to 8:30 P.M., at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, in Garden City.

The keynote speaker, Teresa Rizzuto, President of Long Island MacArthur Airport, will share her inspiring personal experience balancing on the work-life tightrope. The other panelists are: Dr. Neeta Shah, Vice President of Women’s Health Services, North Shore LIJ Health System; Liza Burby, Publisher of Long Island Parent; Danielle Burby, college student and aspiring writer; Arlene Haims, President of Haims Insurance; and Corrie Wilder, principal of Design Solutions and Managing Partner of Grippies, LLC.

“The mature panelists will share with us the challenges of decisions made and surprises encountered along the way, and the younger panelists will share their concerns and aspirations. Their personal stories will illustrate how far we’ve come, yet how much further we still need to go,” explained Christina Barlowe, Vice President of LIWA’s Work & Family Committee.

The evening will include light food and networking. The registration fee is $30 for LIWA members and students, and $35 for nonmembers; membership is available for $35 a year.
