Media Horizons Inc. Forms Data and Analytics Group and Names Rick Child as VP

Emphasis on improving marketing ROI by driving incremental business gains out of an existing customer base

Norwalk, CT, March 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Award-winning direct marketing agency Media Horizons, Inc. announced today the creation of a new Data and Analytics Group. This group will address growing client demand for data performance solutions to increase ROI in direct mail and online channels for both acquisition and customer marketing.

The group will be headed by Rick Child, who has been promoted to Vice President, Data and Analytics. Child, who joined the company in 2006, has more than 12 years of client-side experience in all aspects of direct marketing, including work at Scholastic, Danbury Mint and Rodale. His achievements include redesigning customer contact strategies involving direct mail, telemarketing and email for several major companies, resulting in significant ROI gains.

For existing customers, the Data and Analytics Group develops statistical models to determine the most appropriate offers by customer based on data such as purchase history and demographics. The emphasis is on improving marketing ROI by driving incremental business gains out of an existing customer base.

For acquisitions, the group develops custom prospecting models by applying proprietary algorithms to clients’ customer data and appended third party data. These can be used both in direct mail and online channels. Using these models, marketers can identify and target the prospects most likely to respond, buy and generate the greatest profitability.

During his career, Child has developed marketing strategies in all major media. His strength is in data analysis, where he applies his scientific training as a meteorologist to the discipline of direct marketing. Child also excels in the application of statistical modeling to both acquisition and customer marketing.

Child received an MBA in Marketing and a BS with Distinction in Meteorology from Cornell University.
