Nova Cable Management Inc. Helps Home Owner to Install One of the Nations First Solar Feed in Tariff Systems

Solar Panel installation provides monthly check for the home owner.

Spring Lake, MI, April 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Allan and Christine Schock of Spring Lake Michigan have installed one of the first feed-in tariff solar panel systems in Michigan and one of the first few in the USA under the new Consumers Energy pilot feed-in tariff program. Allan Schock, an air traffic control supervisor and experienced part time home builder / renovator, installed the solar panel system himself.

The system consists of 20 4'X5' panels attached to his south facing roof and an inverter which transforms the voltage to regular AC which goes to a special meter and when read by Consumers Energy will generate a monthly check. The clean energy will flow back to the grid and be used by the Schocks and their neighbors.

The 4 Kilowatt system will be generating more than enough revenue in a year in to completely offset their home electrical energy bill. The original upfront cost will be reduced by 30% due to a federal tax credit and has a return on investment of less than five years.

The system was provided by Nova Cable Management Inc. of Grand Haven MI and DM solar of Florida. The Brightwatts Solar panels and mounts are made of materials from the Michigan and USA. Wire and some additional hardware were purchased locally.

The panels are warranted for 25 years. At the end of the 12 year contract with Consumers Energy, the panels will continue to provide energy to their home through the net metering program. All the energy from the panels will then flow directly into their house before any energy from the grid is used. During low use periods the meter will spin backwards thus further reducing their energy bill.

The feed-in tariff program has been operational in Germany for a number of years and is very successful in incentivizing home owners and businesses to install renewable energy systems. This type of program assists Germany in obtaining nearly 20% of its energy coming from clean renewable sources.

Nova Cable views the program as a tool to increase the use of renewable Solar Energy thus reducing the cost which will soon make clean energy less expensive than conventional sources. The cost of solar is presently at an all time low as a large number of manufactures world wide are scrambling to get market share in this soon to explode business.
