Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto Receives 2010 Burton Legal Achievement Award

New York, NY, April 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, one of the world’s premier intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce that Donald J. Curry, Partner in the New York office, was named a recipient of the 2010 Burton Award for Legal Achievement. Mr. Curry will receive this award for his article entitled “Will The Supreme Court Push Back Again On The Patent Pendulum?” This year’s award marks the sixth time that Fitzpatrick will be recognized, with the Firm’s attorneys having received the Burton Award in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

The Burton Awards for Legal Achievement, which is held in association with the Library of Congress, is devoted to recognizing and rewarding excellence in the legal profession by selecting the finest law firm and law school authors. Since its inception in 1999, the organization has focused primarily on the refinement and enrichment of legal writing. As in past years, 30 law firm award winners were selected out of entries submitted by the nation’s 1,000 largest law firms.

Donald J. Curry joined Fitzpatrick in 1986. He has extensive experience in patent, trade secret and copyright litigation in the computer, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, including extensive experience in patent damages issues, as well as general counseling on intellectual property matters. Mr. Curry has been lead counsel for IBM in several litigations, and has also litigated on behalf of Bristol Myers-Squibb, American Maize Products Co., Essilor and other companies. Mr. Curry also acts as the Pro Bono Coordinator for the firm. He obtained his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1980, a M.Eng. from Cornell University in 1974 and his B.S. from Cornell University in 1973.
