PlattForm Wins Six Aurora Awards

PlattForm, an all-encompassing advertising agency specializing in creative solutions for higher education and all branches of the U.S. military, was honored with six Aurora Awards for excellence in video production.

Olathe, KS, November 18, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Sometimes award-winning ideas come together like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Gleaning bits of inspiration from here and there, creative teams stockpile these thoughts, on the lookout for the piece of the puzzle that makes it all fit together.

And when they do come together, the end result can be quite impressive. For PlattForm, the completed puzzle resulted in two Platinum Best of Show and four Gold Awards from the Aurora Awards.

For one of these winning spots, the first puzzle piece involved a Chevy commercial that featured minimal voiceover and plenty of bold imagery. Next came the miles of shiny, freshly waxed sports cars sitting at dealerships that lined a nearby highway. Although they had some of the pieces, PlattForm’s team knew they were still missing the most important one: the right client.

When Arizona Automotive Institute needed to promote its automotive technology programs, the team knew they could finally complete the puzzle. PlattForm’s video production team not only created a compelling spot for the client that led to an increase in the number of potential students contacting the School, it also managed to win a Platinum Best of Show Aurora Award for its work.

“It’s always a great feeling to be recognized for our hard work,” said Kyle Harbaugh, writer, producer, director and editor of the spot. “But it feels even better to take an idea that had been stewing in my mind for a few months and make it come to life.”

The Aurora Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence in the film and video industries. Entries are judged by award-winning industry professionals from across the United States.

In addition to the Platinum Best of Show Award PlattForm created for Arizona Automotive Institute, the agency won six awards in total: another Platinum Best of Show Award and four Gold Awards. The winning spots were:

-- Everest Institute “Business Card” – Platinum Best of Show for Use of Graphics/Design
-- Florida Metropolitan University “Bree” – Gold Award for Schools/Training Services

-- Florida Metropolitan University “Rhyme and Reason Campaign” – Gold Award for Advertising Campaign
-- Everest Institute “Business Card” – Gold Award for Schools/Training Services

In addition to the Aurora Awards, PlattForm’s production department has been recognized for its outstanding work with a regional Emmy nomination and multiple Videographer, Telly and Communicator Awards.
