RE/MAX Dominates 2010 Power Broker Rankings with Help of 2 Firms Serving Metro Chicago Real Estate Market

Elgin, IL, April 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two RE/MAX firms serving the metro Chicago real estate market helped the RE/MAX network dominate the newly released 2010 Power Broker Report from RIS Media.

RE/MAX Suburban, which has offices in Arlington Heights, Glen Ellyn, Libertyville, Mt. Prospect, Schaumburg and Wheaton, and RE/MAX TEAM 2000, with offices in Orland Park and Palos Heights, joined 67 other RE/MAX brokerages that the Power Broker Report ranked as among the nation’s 300 leading brokerages.

The 69 RE/MAX brokerages averaged an impressive 15.1 transaction sides per agent in 2009, an 18 percent increase over their leading position in the 2008 survey and a performance 26 percent higher than agents of the next closest competitor.

RE/MAX Suburban ranked 182nd in total transaction sides and 145 in sales volume. Its agents closed an average of 12.9 transactions and $3.09 million in sales last year. RE/MAX TEAM 2000 ranked 240th in transactions sides and 275th in sales volume. Its agents averaged 15.1 transactions and $2.8 million in closed sales.

The 69 RE/MAX brokerages ranked in the Power Broker Report represent 23 percent of the total. The closest competitor, Keller Williams, placed 43 brokerages in the ranking. Other major competitors with their representation in the report were: Coldwell Banker (36), Prudential (30) and Century 21 (23).

“We are so proud of our sales associates, especially considering how difficult today’s market is,” said Margaret Kelley, CEO of RE/MAX International. “The fact is, only the best trained and most experienced agents will find ways to succeed and be able to provide valuable assistance to so many American families facing financial difficulties.”

Kelly believes a significant factor in the success of RE/MAX sales associates is the comprehensive educational resources available through RE/MAX University.

“Our associates lead the industry in sales experience and professional designations. Within the past year, over 15,000 agents earned a distressed property designation from RE/MAX University, our on-demand, multi-media educational institution, and we have significant initiatives that will increase those efforts in the coming year.”

The National Association of Realtors® has said that nearly 40 percent of the current residential market consists of distressed properties, including foreclosures and short sales.

The 22nd annual Power Broker Report is produced by RIS Media and the complete report can be found online at www.rismedia.com.
