NPSA Celebrates Arbor Day by Saving Trees
The National Portable Storage Association is celebrating Arbor Day with education on how portable storage containers can save trees.
Kansas City, MO, May 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Founded in 1872 by J. Sterling Morton, Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planning and care. His simple idea of setting aside a special day for tree planting may be more important than ever in the age of deforestation.
The National Portable Storage Association, a nonprofit membership association dedicated to the advancement of the portable storage industry, is celebrating Arbor Day by encouraging its members to organize a beautification project in a public arena, holding a paper drive to gather paper that can be recycled to save a tree, volunteering with local tree-planning organizations—and educating consumers and businesses about the tree-saving possibilities of portable storage.
"You can do many different things to celebrate Arbor Day, from reading a book about trees to organizing an Arbor Day Fair. But portable storage industry companies would do well to explain to the masses how we can save trees by using portable storage units as building components," said John Finnessy, CMP, Executive Director the NPSA.
"By getting the word out about how containerized storage can be modified into many different types of dwellings, including houses, portables storage companies can do well by doing good," Finnessy continued. "As more architects and engineers realize the value of portable storage besides traditional storage purposes, we can save trees, recycle containers and build a stronger industry."
