St. Johns River Water Management District Hosts Own MS Govern User Conference
St. Louis, MO, May 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Long time MS Govern customer, St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD), which is headquartered in Palatka, Florida, held its own user conference this year, from March 22-24, 2010.
The conference provided an opportunity for district officials and employees who use the MS Govern System to “gather, educate, manage and solve” in order to use the District’s financial information systems more efficiently and effectively.
SJRWMD had nearly 100 attendees who chose from a series of informative training sessions on MS Govern’s Financial Systems, including hands-on lab session. MS Govern attendees included Business Analyst and Financial System expert, Toni Bolden; General Manager Craig Ross; and Trisha Murray, Vice President of Client Services & Communications. Business expert Donna Parker delivered focus sessions via Web conference as well.
Continuing its commitment to protecting the environment, all handouts, agendas, presentations and the like were provided electronically. In addition, SJRWMD is putting forth the following efforts in an on-going basis to expand its paper reduction initiatives:
-- The use of MS Govern’s Employee Self Service Portal, which eliminates the need for the District to distribute paper copies of direct deposits.
--The storage of electronic images of all direct deposit notices and other checks issued to vendors, employees and board members in the District’s document management system.
--The production of purchase orders as PDF images via MS Govern’s Enterprise Output Management (EOM) system, which replaced the need for paper copies and also reduced staff time and postage costs related to distributing these notices.
MS Govern provided various promotional items as prizes for the attendees. One lucky grand prize winner received a complimentary pass to Harris’ 11th Annual User Conference, which will be held this October (20-22) at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
Feedback provided to the District about the conference was overwhelmingly positive.
