Quatro Composites™ Announces Acquisition of Additional Autoclave

Quatro Composites™, a leader in design and fabrication of advanced composite structures, has announced the acquisition of an additional autoclave and on-site freezer to support its composite manufacturing business.

Orange City, IA, May 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Quatro’s new autoclave is equipped with state-of-the-art computer control over all process variables including: heat up rate, dwell time, variable pressurization and controlled cooling. With a working size of 7 feet in diameter and 12 feet in length, the new ASC autoclave will have a maximum working pressure of 125 PSI and temperature of 450 degrees F. The new autoclave will be installed this month.

In December 2009, Quatro broke ground for a new addition, which will allow for a 24 foot wide by 67 foot long x 22 foot tall freezer. The new freezer will have capacity to store over 75 pallets of raw carbon pre-preg material on-site. The addition will provide quick access to material and improve production lead times. Construction is expected to be completed in April of 2010.

“The new autoclave and freezer space will allow us to better manage current production capacities while undertaking new business opportunities,” said VP of Operations, Frank Sloup, “We are very excited about the potential for growth.”
