Sports Speakers to Appear in Association with Speakers Corner for Summer 2010

Summer 2010 has finally arrived and Speakers Corner is delighted to present a collection of speakers in association with the major sporting events from April to July 2010.

London, United Kingdom, May 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- On April 30th Summer kicks off with the Twenty20 World Cup in the UK, followed by the Test cricket Summer season and our fantastic cricketing speakers combine a wealth of knowledge and experience. David Gower combines this with humour and fantastic anecdotes to present a very entertaining after-dinner speech, and Nasser Hussain is not only one of the most significant Captains the UK has ever produced, but also delivers incisive commentary in his role as Sky Sports presenter and motivational speaker. Mike Atherton has also stormed through the ranks since playing cricket to become Sports Journalist of the Year 2010 as Chief Cricket Correspondent at The Times.

South Africa celebrates the arrival of the World Cup this year, and alongside the FA Cup Final in May, football is a hot topic for the Summer. Ray Stubbs and Mark Lawrenson are regulars on Football Focus and combine great insight into the sport from every angle, with humour and energy. As well as being close friends in the studio they both create a close bond with the audience. Pierluigi Collina has seen – and heard – it all during his time as football referee at the biggest matches in the world. Initially trained as a Financial Advisor, he has now been voted Best Referee in the World three times and is an excellent motivational keynote and after dinner speaker.

The Rugby Summer Tour heads to Australia in June and Will Greenwood, Lawrence Dallaglio, and Austin Healey are ready and raring for the action. Their motivational knowledge and experience under pressure are very inspirational – and Austin even adds a few sequin anecdotes for good measure! At the end of the rubgy tour, Wimbledon takes over and Hen-mania may have calmed on the courts but the after-dinner circuit has benefitted as Tim Henman provides a very interesting and humble approach. Andrew Castle has a fantastic media profile in terms of connecting with the audience, and Pat Cash and John McEnroe never fail to provide an energy boost. Matthew Sayd was a Sports Journalist of the Year nominee in April 2010 and is an up-and-coming talent with his new book and fantastic insight into the psychology of champion sports stars.

It’s very exciting to hear that the British Grand Prix is returning to Silverstone in July and Eddie Jordan, James Allen, and Martin Brundle are all experts on the circuit and in the commentary box. Eddie ran his own Formula One team and has experience of handling business, sporting and engineering pressures, alongside the media. Martin Brundle competed with Michael Schumacher and has since taken over from Murray Walker with James Allen to become the foremost commentators on Formula One.

Britain will also welcome the Open Golf Championship in July and Sam Torrance and Steve Rider – both very experienced commentators - will both be closely following Tiger Wood’s return to defend his title. Garry Richardson and John Inverdale are fantastic after-dinner speakers and facilitators and capable of providing an in-depth overview covering everything from golf to cricket throughout this year’s fantastic sporting calendar.
