Panama City Beach, FL, May 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort is happy to be a part of an industry that is celebrating their 100th birthday this year. In the 13 years that the resort has been catering to the RV owner, there have been a number of changes. Some of the changes were thought to be new but the changes aren't as new as originally thought.

Slide-outs, (also known as slides, bump outs, or a number of other names), became popular over the past few years. But guess what? In 1916 there was a Model T Ford with something called “telescopes” which opened up the sleeping area on one of the earliest RV's.

This goes to prove the adage, “Everything old is new again.” If there were pictures of covered wagons crossing to the west, some of the amenities that are considered modern day would probably be visible.

While the majority of people owning and using RV's still tends to be in the over 50 age range, the second age range that are enjoying RV's is in the 36 to 50 age group according to a survey commissioned by GoRVing. As the economy has tightened, young families have found that staying in an RV for their vacation can help lower the overall cost of the trip.

Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort is looking forward to seeing where RV's go in the next 100 years.
