Ranks 1st Among Real Estate Brokerage Web Sites and Moves Up 2 Spots Overall

Elgin, IL, May 23, 2010 --( The Web site continues to rank as the most visited Internet destination among all real estate brokerage sites in the most recent ranking by Hitwise, a leading online competitive intelligence service that looks at how Web sites are used and ranks them monthly based on traffic volume.

The RE/MAX Web site climbed two spots in the April ranking after coming in 10th among all real estate sites in March. That puts RE/MAX seven spots ahead of its closest competitor, Century 21, which saw its Web site ranked 15th in April.

According to Merrion, one factor drawing increased traffic to is the easy access it offers to listings of distressed properties, which now account for about 40 percent of all home sales nationwide.
