Chartis Pays Out Claims for Volcanic Ash Disruption

Karachi, Pakistan, May 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- As the market leader for travel insurance in Pakistan, New Hampshire Insurance Company (NHIC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Chartis Inc., was ready to answer queries clients had related to flight delays, cancellations and other questions as a result of the Volcanic Eruption of Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland. More importantly, NHIC Pakistan was ready to process claims. The resultant volcanic ash caused significant disruption to air travel from 15th to 20th April across much of Western Europe resulting in cancellation of most flights to, from, and within Europe.

Mrs. Yasmin Aftab, one of the very first travelers to provide NHIC Pakistan with her claims documents, was delayed in New York for a couple of days due to flight cancellation. Upon receiving her settlement cheque on the 3rd May, 2010, Mrs. Aftab commented,”I always buy travel & health insurance when visiting my son in the USA. I always take NHIC’s travel & health insurance with me because of their multinational origin. I was skeptical about the claims process and receiving payment, however, the prompt settlement of my claim has changed my perception and I would recommend to all travelers to purchase travel & health insurance from NHIC. They cover your health expenses and unforeseen travel inconvenience expenses at a fraction of cost of the journey.”
