Speakers Announced for Sustainable Healthcare and Hospital Development Conference

The Sustainable Healthcare and Hospital Development Conference will bring together over 400 healthcare executives and provide networking opportunities of a lifetime, as it bridges two of the fastest growing industries together.

Los Angeles, CA, May 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Sustainable Healthcare and Hospital Development Conference will take place on September 22-24th, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.

Sustainable Healthcare also referred to as “Green” Healthcare,” Healthcare Development, and Hospital Development is a fast growing industry with billions of dollars being invested over the next 5 years in Sustainable Healthcare, and Hospital and Healthcare Development projects globally. The conference will host up to 400 leaders from over 30 different countries from the healthcare and governmental sectors. The conference will also provide several networking opportunities and will highlight experienced guest speakers, while combining two of the fastest growing industries together for three days of educational development.

Some of the speakers will include, Ms. Laila Al Jassmi, Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Jorge Cortes, Clinica Biblica Hospital, and Mr. Stuart Rowley, Prince Court Medical Centre.

Ms. Laila Al Jassmi is currently the CEO of the Clinical Support Service Sector at Dubai Health Authority (DHA). She will be responsible for overseeing the application of the sector’s strategic plan in accordance with DHA. Jassmi has been employed for Dubai Health Authority for over 19 years and as such has extensive knowledge of healthcare systems, health reform, and strategic planning of healthcare services. Jassmi is a graduate of the College of Allied Health Science and Nursing from Kuwait University and holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Zayed University. She has also been awarded certificates of Appreciation one of which recognized her as a distinguished employee for the Dubai Government, and holds several forms of memberships on several different committees.

Another speaker will be Dr. Jorge Cortes who is the CMO in Hospital Clinica Biblica, the largest and most prestigious private hospital in Costa Rica. Hospital Clinica Biblica is the first hospital to receive accreditation by Joint Commission International. The hospital’s staff has propelled the medical institution towards growth, noted in the tripling of its size in 10 years. This tremendous growth is not only in the area of production, but infrastructure as well. Dr. Cortes has many accomplishments, he has been a previous guest speaker at many conferences, he is the President and founding member of Costa Rican Council for the Promotion of Medical Tourism, and former Secretary General for the College of Doctors of Costa Rica. He received his degree in internal medicine and a Master’s degree in Management and Medical Services.

At the Prince Court Medical Centre, Mr. Stuart Rowley is the CEO and Board Director with more than 20 years of experience as a Consultant and Surveyor with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), which is Australia’s National Healthcare Accreditation Body. Rowley has been a Surveyor for more than 50 hospitals both in Australia and overseas and has served as a Surveyor Team Leader for more than 30 hospitals. His previous roles include; CEO of Mercy Hospital for Women (Victoria’s largest specialist women’s hospital) in Melbourne Australia, CEO of LaTrobe Regional Hospital (Victoria’s first privatized public hospital), Executive Director of The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne Australia, Executive Director of Echuca Regional Health. Rowley is currently completing his Doctoral Studies in Public Health.
