MoneyTree Idea eXchange (MIX) - June 2010

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, June 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- MoneyTree will be organizing the 2nd session of the MoneyTree Idea eXchange (MIX) event this 3rd June at the PJLA (PJ Live Arts) Studio, Level 2, Jaya One, Section 13, PJ from 7:00pm - 9:30pm. MIX is a platform for youths to showcase their talents by pitching their business ideas to investors and potential employers.

For this session's MIX, the session sponsor, Standard Online Tourism Architecture (SOTA), a consolidated tourism e-business platform that unites government, travel businesses and consumers would be seeking to obtain ideas from participating teams to develop an online strategy for Travel Agencies within the SOTA platform to approach the youth market. Teams would also need to suggest ways to penetrate the youth market by attracting youths and boosting their interest in travelling.

MoneyTree Malaysia CEO, Mr Brandon Liew stated, "After the success of the first session of MIX, we are convinced that this platform would not only enable young people to share their ideas and play a part in solving a real business problem faced by an organization, MIX would also provide youths with an avenue to test the viability of their ideas before they launch their businesses into the market. This would allow them to fine tune their ideas after having their ideas scrutinized by industry experts."

There would be 2 categories in MIX; the first category (Open Category) would be a category where the participating teams would pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, and defend their ideas against the scrutiny of the judges. The second category (Sponsor Category) would see the teams coming up with business solutions for problems / challenges faced by an organization, and suggest ways as to how the problem / challenge can be resolved.

Each team (consisting of 3 - 4 members) would be given 210 seconds (3.5 minutes) to pitch their ideas / business solutions to the judges, investors and employers, followed by a 5-minute Q & A session by Judges made up of industry experts and Heads of Major corporations. Teams would have to defend their business ideas against the scrutiny of the judges and the best team would walk away with a prize money of RM 1,250 for category 1, and RM 1,500 for category 2.

MIX is a monthly event which also serves as a platform for organizations to identify Top talent within Universities and Colleges.
