Ashland University’s Morgan Center to Host Young Entrepreneurs Camp

Students entering grades 8-12 have an opportunity to attend the sixth Young Entrepreneurs @ Ashland camp to be held July 19-23 at Ashland University.

Ashland, OH, June 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Ashland University’s Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies will be holding the sixth Young Entrepreneurs @ Ashland camp July 19-23. Offered during the summer at Ashland University, the week-long day camp is a comprehensive, hands-on, academic program that immerses students in business, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Students entering grades 8-12 will be provided with an opportunity to collaborate with university professors, engage in new product development, enhance leadership and management skills, experience trading on the stock exchange and much more. New for 2010, students will experience the start-up of a virtual business. Each day will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. A lunch, included in the tuition, will be supplied for the students every afternoon.

Specialized business luncheons will be held for the students as well. One will be a Business Etiquette Luncheon, during which a speaker will instruct the students on how to behave appropriately in a business luncheon setting. The other will be an actual luncheon featuring VIPs from the University and local business members. At this luncheon, the students will be encouraged to share their final project ideas prior to the Business Trade Show.

At the end of the week, students will participate in a Business Trade Show, enabling them to present their final product and marketing campaign to families, friends, VIPs and local business people. The experience will provide student companies with a unique, reflective experience as business community members pose questions regarding student company decisions.

Tuition for the camp is $200, with a $75 deposit due with application and the balance required by July 9. Space is limited, so apply early. More information about the program is available on the website at www.ashland.edu/yea, or by contacting Read Wakefield at 419-289-5039.
