Medical Software Firm Has Strong Following at Local Conference

Hundreds descend upon the shores of the Missouri River to attend the 2010 PDS Customer Meeting in Kansas City

Hutchinson, KS, June 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Professional Data Services, Inc. (PDS) a leading medical practice management software company and award winning reseller of McKesson Practice Partner electronic health records (EHR), held their annual Customer Meeting on April 8th and 9th at the Argosy Casino in Kansas City, Missouri.

The conference focused on two major products: PDS Cortex- PDS’ flagship medical practice management and billing software product, and McKesson’s Practice Partner-a leading EHR/EMR solution. In addition, a number of complementary products such as a practice check-in kiosk, web hosting, patient portal and others received significant attention.

The annual conference was a triumphant success as Gary Hobbs, President of PDS gave the opening address to the over 250 patrons that came from as far away as New Jersey. This customer loyalty has been built by PDS over 37 years of listening to customer requests and implementing them into future releases.

The keynote address was delivered by Tammy Eden, National VP of VAR Sales for McKesson Corporation. The HITECH section of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was discussed and clarity was given to what we refer to as the stimulus plan. The HITECH act will provide reimbursements to physicians of up to $44,000 for the purchase of EHR software. Physicians from all specialties are watching the government’s ‘Meaningful Use’ regulations to fully understand what will be required to qualify for the government reimbursement.

Mrs. Eden pointed out that the final certification process for Meaningful Use is still being defined by the government so currently, no EHR or EMR vendors can claim they are certified. Vendors will need to have their solutions certified by a government certification body, which will also be determined in the new few months.

The two day conference included a variety of breakout sessions that informed customers on methods to increase efficiencies in their medical practices. A number of physicians that have implemented PDS Cortex and Practice Partner in their practices presented on how PDS has helped them to increase revenues and reduce account receivables.

The conference concluded with Michelle Taber, Manager of Systems Quality Assurance at PDS, presenting the details on the highly anticipated release of PDS Cortex version 7.

Russ Wedel, Sales Manager at PDS, hosted the 2010 PDS Customer Meeting and gave closing remarks that PDS is positioned well with an outstanding support and implementation staff to help medical practices increase their revenue and efficiencies through the use of technology. In addition, Wedel indicated that PDS is the leader in providing practice management and EHR solutions to Rural Health Clinics across the US for over 37 years.
