Scared Hitless Wins Another Nail Biter

Defending Champs win two despite being down late in the second game.

Rockville, MD, June 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In breaking with current traditions, Scared Hitless’ Monday night doubleheader was not rained out and was played as scheduled. The defending City of Rockville National Champs took on Lake Liberty in a nail biter.

In the first half of the night time pair of games, the boys in green put on an impressive performance both at the plate and in the field. The loose tongued Lake Liberty players found a few holes in Scared Hitless' Defense and scored some dramatic runs but in the end the boys in green were easily able to put down their opponents.

Lake Liberty jumped out to a small lead in the second game but subsequently were unable to get the ball past the green wall of defense. The boys chipped away at the lead and came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning down a run. A string of hits produced the tying run and an intentional walk of Daniel Maggin with two runners on loaded the bases. Chris Morely stepped to the plate bringing his .500 batting average with him. It was a mere formality after that as Chris drove a screamer through the infield scoring Greg Herbold from third.

Notable plate contributions were provided by Daniel Maggin who reached base in all 8 appearances, Kyle Sourk who reached base 6 of 9 times, and Ryan Whicher who broke his slump with an imposing 6 of 7 evening.

The defense needs to be saluted as well with the infield showing an impressive leather clad performance and the outfield legging down everything within sight.

Congrats to the boys in green and all the fans. The after party will be held at Seaside Heights, New Jersey. See you next Sunday for the makeup game against Avery Hess.
