Kelly Capolino Sponsoring: Wind Mitigation & Hurricane Awareness Seminar Set for June 26, 2010 in Naples

Kelly Capolino’s “Wind Mitigation and Hurricane Awareness Seminar” will feature two speakers with years of experience preparing for and dealing with southwest Florida’s natural disasters.

Naples, FL, June 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Kelly E. Capolino, a top-producing real estate agent in the Naples area, is sponsoring a “Wind Mitigation & Hurricane Awareness” seminar. Free and open to the public, it will be held on June 26, 2010 at the Hawksridge Clubhouse, 2402 Hawksridge Drive, Naples, FL 34105, conveniently located off Airport Pulling Road, south of Pine Ridge and north of Golden Gate Parkway and Grey Oaks.

The 60 minute seminar will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will feature two speakers: Jim von Rinteln, newly appointed CEO of the Southern Gulf Coast Region of the American Red Cross, and Tom Kelly, a long time Collier County resident and local home inspector.

Former Emergency Management Coordinator for Collier County Government, von Rinteln will be speaking on hurricane preparedness and beyond -- plus security precautions that are often overlooked during a disaster. Kelly, who has been in the construction business in Collier County for nearly 20 years and has been a home inspector for the past two, will follow with a presentation that will outline the importance of wind mitigation and the effects an inspection can have on homeowners’ insurance.

“I began my career as an inspector after I saw the benefits of wind mitigation myself. A few years ago I had an inspection done on my private residence and ended up saving $2600 per year on my homeowners insurance. I was sold; I knew this was something that needed to be better publicized. During my two years of conducting inspections, all of my customers have saved at least 20% on their homeowners’ insurance due to the wind mitigation inspection,” said Tom Kelly.

The advantages and monetary savings associated with being prepared for disasters are the key messages planned for this seminar. Attendees will learn little known facts about the thousands of dollars in savings an inspection can provide each year. They will also gain crucial information about the local disaster services provided by the American Red Cross.

“Being prepared mentally, emotionally and physically before a disaster hits is vital for the well being of yourself, your loved ones and your home. My 14 years of experience with emergencies and disasters has taught me that pre-planning is essential in minimizing the affects of any disaster. I am very eager about my new position with the American Red Cross and look forward to working with the families of Collier County on preparedness,” said von Rinteln.

“I’m very proud to be sponsoring this event; we have two very dynamic speakers lined up to talk about extremely relevant topics for residents of Southwest Florida,” said Capolino. “Jim has been involved in emergency management for years and we can all benefit from his insight. Tom’s subject matter will be an eye-opener for everyone in attendance, as many homeowners are in the dark and don’t realize how much a wind mitigation inspection can reduce home insurance premiums.”

A continental breakfast will be served at the seminar. Attendance is free, but space is limited. Reservations can be made by emailing Kelly@Naples.net or calling 239-262-7131 ext. 149.
