New York, NY, June 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, one of the world’s premier intellectual property law firms, has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year by British legal directory publisher, Chambers & Partners in the 2010 USA Guide, which was released on June 11, 2010. The firm received the highest possible ranking, band one, in the Intellectual Property: Patent category in New York, and was ranked in band two in the Intellectual Property category nationwide.

Fitzpatrick “Does top-notch legal work,” according to this year’s edition. “It has some creative thinkers and the quality of the product is always high.” Chambers USA researchers conducted thousands of in-depth phone interviews with a vast range of lawyers, peers and their clients to compile this information. Law firms and individual lawyers are ranked in bands from 1-4 that distinguish levels of seniority or significant activities of lawyers.

“We are honored to have received these prestigious Chambers & Partners rankings for the seventh consecutive year for our work in intellectual property,” said Fitzpatrick Managing Partner Colleen Tracy. “It is gratifying to see both the firm as well as our individual attorneys recognized from the recommendations of their peers and clients, and we congratulate them on these esteemed awards.”

In addition to the firm rankings, three Fitzpatrick attorneys received individual recognition. On Nicholas Cannella, Chambers USA sources characterize him as a “fearless advocate with the confidence and experience to try any case and win.” Also in the directory, Robert Baechtold is ranked both nationwide and in New York and his name “is synonymous with excellence in pharmaceutical-related patent litigation.” Bill Solander was recognized as having an “impressive reputation in the pharmaceutical field,” according to peers.

Chambers USA has been researching the US legal profession since 1999, identifying the leading lawyers and law firms through interviews with thousands of lawyers and their clients. In addition to state listings, certain practice areas, such as intellectual property and antitrust have nationwide listings which include those firms and lawyers with national practices.
