Local Business Helps People Get Ready for Hurricane Season


Tampa, FL, June 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Office Assistance Plus announced today the launch of their Hurricane GO Kit to help locals prepare for an active 2010 hurricane season that began June 1 and runs through November 30.

According to the St. Petersburg Times (Friday, May 28), experts from NOAA forecast an “active to extremely active” hurricane season with 14 to 23 named storms, 8 to 14 hurricanes and 3 to 7 major hurricanes (111 miles mph and above). Officials worry that too many people are unprepared based on a survey of residents living in hurricane-vulnerable states. The survey found that most feel they are invulnerable and are unprepared for the hurricane season.

Office Assistance Plus, a Tampa company that organizes offices and people, cares about the safety of members in their local community. They know people want to get themselves and their families prepared but with all they have to do every day, taking the necessary steps required to get prepared likely requires time and focus they just don’t have. The company decided to take action and make getting ready easier. They did the legwork and research to organize a Hurricane GO Kit for the community. They created a File/Document Guide, color-coded pre-labeled file folders and other items people need in their kit to store their critical documents safely and placed everything in a portable waterproof file box “to GO.”

As organizing and productivity experts, Office Assistance Plus knows the importance of dedicating time to certain tasks to ensure they get done so they are only offering the Hurricane GO Kit in a package with one hour of on-site, hands-on organizing services. The cost of the package is $99. “We’ll come to them, explain the kit and its contents and then help people get started putting their kit together” says owner Lisa Assetta. "Sorting, organizing and filing paper is our specialty and our expertise will help make the process easier and more efficient.”
