American Discovery Selected to Serve on Advisory Board for ABA Best Seller

Los Angeles, CA, June 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Advisory Board of the ABA Publishing Best Selling book, “The Globalized Lawyer: Secrets to Managing Outsourcing, Joint Ventures and other Cross-Border Transactions,” today announces preparations for the anticipated 2011 release of an expanded second edition. Substantial additions and updates will feature the unique perspectives of leading executives, academics and practitioners from around the world. This new edition adds more extensive coverage on subjects such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, political risk, immigration, international arbitration and international transactional financing.

Author David A. Steiger has earned great respect from the global business community for his insightful commentary on issues impacting international transactions. Steiger’s writing seamlessly combines scholarly inquiry, in-depth practitioner interviews and personal experiences. Traveling tens of thousands of miles, he has observed outsourcing centers in India, met with in-house legal staff in Singapore and developed guanxi with Chinese based business insiders.

Scott Cauwels of Best Buy Co., a founding board member, said, “Adding Steiger’s practical observations on the hottest topics surrounding global transactions today will make the second edition of The Globalized Lawyer a must-have tool for lawyers, executives, and any other professional involved in business overseas.”

An Adjunct Faculty member at DePaul University’s School for New Learning, Steiger has engaged local professionals in settings ranging from the International Bank of Asia in Hong Kong to St. Gabriel’s College in Bangkok. He has contributed to the Chicago Tribune and appeared on the nationally syndicated Chicago Public Radio program Worldview.

A sought after speaker, Steiger most recently delivered the Keynote Address at the 2010 Minnesota International Business Law Institute and is scheduled to address Los Angeles area attorneys on July 16, 2010 on the topic of "Google, China, Political Risk and You."
