Raleigh, NC, June 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Heather Dean to Discuss Tax-related Issues on June 24

Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (www.hpg.com), the largest CPA firm headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, announces today that firm partner Heather Dean will be the featured speaker at a seminar hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Held at the department’s Raleigh office on June 24, the seminar is part of the “I Want to Learn More About International Trade” series.

“These seminars offer an excellent opportunity to discuss relevant information on doing business internationally,” says Dean. “I am excited to speak at the event and look forward to the discussions with other industry professionals.”

Dean will speak on tax-related issues for companies that export products globally. The discussion will include regulatory framework, entity formation, cross-border financial planning and permanent establishment considerations.

“Our clients increasingly operate in a multinational world in which knowledge of only domestic rules is inadequate. This seminar will provide valuable guidance on the tax and compliance regulations that these companies face,” says Sandra R. Edwards, director of the U.S. Department of Commerce/International Trade Administration Raleigh office. “We truly appreciate Heather speaking and keeping our clients more competitive and aware of international tax rules and regulations.”

A member of HPG since 2005, Dean became the firm’s youngest partner in 2008. She manages HPG’s corporate tax practice, working with clients in a variety of industries including biomedical and pharmaceutical, software and technology development, manufacturing, and venture funds.

The seminar will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the U.S. Department of Commerce, 10900 World Trade Boulevard, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27617. For more information, visit www.buyusa.gov/northcarolina.
