Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Products Announces Tree-Free, BPA-Free Bamboo Bathroom Tissue

Mashpee, MA, June 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Products is pleased to announce the latest addition to their tree-free products made with the renewable, sustainable resource of bamboo – Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Bathroom Tissue. “This bathroom tissue takes being green to a whole new level,” said Bum Boosa™ President and Co-founder Sonja J. Sheasley, “It employs bamboo, which is grown without pesticides, irrigation or disruption to the root system, in the creation of a bathroom tissue that does not contribute to deforestation or leach BPAs (Bisphenol A – an organic compound suspected of being hazardous to humans since the 1930s) into the groundwater.”

Research has recently surfaced that toilet paper made with recycled content contains BPAs. When flushed into the waste system (public or private) these BPAs leach into the groundwater eventually contaminating drinking water, soil, habitat and more.

When this issue came to light several months ago Bum Boosa™ stepped up their commitment to changing the world one product at a time and developed the world’s first bamboo bathroom tissue. Taking their mission further, Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Bathroom Tissue is packaged in a box made from 100% recycled material – no plastic.

Bamboo, which can be harvested in 2-4 years and doesn’t require replanting, is making its way steadily into the mainstream in a variety of ways. Bum Boosa™ launched in 2009 with its baby care products, specifically Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Baby Wipes and Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Diaper Rash Ointment. Capitalizing on the environmentally friendly aspects of growing and harvesting bamboo, Bum Boosa™ brought to market wipes that are 100% biodegradable unlike 80% of the wipes on the market today. Made with a natural solution that includes lavender and sweet orange essential oils and contain no harsh chemicals or alcohol, the word about the wipes spread quickly.

“More people use bathroom tissue than use wipes and diaper rash ointment on a daily basis so creating a truly eco-friendly toilet paper took top priority.” said Vice President and Co-Founder Polly T. Goddard, “Creating products that are truly good for the planet and for the end users while educating people about the benefits of bamboo are the most important goals in our business. People are becoming more aware of the value of products being chlorine-free, alcohol-free, BPA-free, tree-free and made with natural ingredients – that’s important! Choosing products that are made with ingredients you can pronounce and with materials that are renewable and sustainable whenever possible makes sense.”

Bum Boosa™, co-founded by two Cape Cod moms interested in replacing commonly used products with the most environmentally responsible products possible, is also committed to replanting trees in heavily deforested areas of the world. Since its launch in July 2009, Bum Boosa™ has planted more than 10,000 trees in partnership with Trees for the Future and will plant at least 10,000 more by the end of 2010. Bum Boosa™ also offsets more than 100% of its calculated carbon emissions. To learn more about Bum Boosa’s™ products and the benefits of bamboo visit www.bumboosa.com or call 1-866-996-BUMS (2867).
