Hawthorne OTB Management Means New Opportunity

Hawthorne Race Course Set to Bring Player Rewards Program to Race Fans at OTB Locations.

Chicago, IL, June 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Hawthorne Race Course has internalized management at five OTB locations throughout the Chicagoland area. This new management structure, which took place on June 7th, will establish internal cost savings and efficiencies which will predominantly benefit the general public by allowing for expanded development of Hawthorne’s renowned Player Rewards program: Club Hawthorne.

Overall operational management changes will take place at Bookie Magee’s Hideaway & OTB in Joliet (2450 Jefferson Street) and the OTB in Chicago (11203 S. Corliss); as well as with specific regards to pari-mutuel operations at the joint venture OTBs: Adam’s Road House in Buffalo Grove (301 N. Milwaukee Ave.); The Foundry in Aurora (85 Executive Drive); and Stoney Point Grill in Mokena (19031 Old LaGrange Road).

“Creating efficiency by internalizing management with Hawthorne staff will enable us to continue to offer the best possible horse wagering entertainment to the general public,” Tim Carey, President of Hawthorne Race Course, said. “In the last few years we have made significant infrastructure improvements at Hawthorne for the benefit of our players including installation of hundreds of new high-def flat panel TVs, private high-end player rooms and reserved boxed seating. We’re very excited to bring amenities and improvements like these to the OTBs.”

Among these new opportunities is the Club Hawthorne Rewards Program. The program allows up to four percent cash back, adding up to over one million dollars which Hawthorne gives back to its members every year. The program also includes exclusive cash contests and promotional offers available to Club Hawthorne members. “No one expects players to make it to the track every day, especially when we aren’t racing live like this summer. But now we can stay connected with our fans by offering Club Hawthorne benefits at the OTB parlors,” said Jim Miller, Director of Racing at Hawthorne Race Course, who’s daily “Best Bet” tips will now be available at the parlors as well as via Twitter @HawthorneJim.
